Carefully browse through the list of installed applications and uninstall “Ask”, “Ask Toolbar”, “Search App by Ask”, all dubious and unknown apps. We recommend to press ‘Installed programs’ and even sorts all installed software by date. When you have found anything questionable that may be the browser hijacker responsible for redirecting user searches to Ask.com or other PUP (potentially unwanted program), then select this program and click ‘Uninstall’ in the upper part of the window. Remove Ask Toolbar from Google Chrome

Run the Reset internet browser tool of the Google Chrome to reset all its settings such as new tab, search engine and homepage to original defaults. This is a very useful utility to use, in the case of web browser hijacks such as Ask Toolbar.

Open the Chrome menu by clicking on the button in the form of three horizontal dotes (chrome menu button). It will open the drop-down menu. Choose More Tools, then press Extensions.

Carefully browse through the list of installed addons. If the list has the extension labeled with “Installed by enterprise policy” or “Installed by your administrator”, then complete the following tutorial: Remove Chrome extensions installed by enterprise policy otherwise, just go to the step below.

Open the Chrome main menu again, click to “Settings” option.

Get rid of Ask Toolbar search from Internet Explorer

First, run the Internet Explorer. Next, click the button in the form of gear (Internet Explorer tools menu icon). It will open the Tools drop-down menu, press the “Internet Options” as displayed in the following example.

In the “Internet Options” window click on the Advanced tab, then press the Reset button. The Internet Explorer will display the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” window as shown below. Select the “Delete personal settings” check box, then click “Reset” button.

Delete Ask Toolbar search from Firefox

If your Mozilla Firefox browser startpage has modified to Ask Toolbar without your permission or an unknown search engine shows results for your search, then it may be time to perform the browser reset. When using the reset feature, your personal information like passwords, bookmarks, browsing history and web form auto-fill data will be saved.

First, start the Mozilla Firefox and press Mozilla Firefox menu button button. It will open the drop-down menu on the right-part of the internet browser. Further, press the Help button (Firefox help button) as displayed below.

It will show the confirmation prompt. Further, press the “Refresh Firefox” button. The Firefox will start a procedure to fix your problems that caused by the browser hijacker which cause Ask page to appear. When, it’s done, click the “Finish” button.
