Normally, if the last word in the Target field is chrome.exe, iexplore.exe, firefox.exe. Be sure to pay attention to the extension, should be “exe”! All shortcuts which have been altered by Adware.BrowserSafer adware usually point to .bat, .cmd or .url files instead of .exe like below

Another variant, an address has been added at the end of the line. In this case the Target field looks like …Application\chrome.exe” http://site.address as shown below.

In order to fix the affected shortcut, you need to insert right path to the Target field or remove an address (if it has been added at the end). You can use the following information to fix your shortcut files which have been modified by Adware.BrowserSafer that causes web-browsers to open intrusive ads.

Once is complete, press OK to save changes. Repeat the step for all internet browsers which are redirected to unwanted web-pages.

Remove Adware.BrowserSafer from Google Chrome

Like other modern web-browsers, the Google Chrome has the ability to reset the settings to their default values and thereby recover the web-browser’s settings such as default search provider, new tab and startpage that have been changed by the Adware.BrowserSafer adware which causes unwanted popup ads.

Open the Chrome menu by clicking on the button in the form of three horizontal dotes (chrome menu button). It will display the drop-down menu. Select More Tools, then click Extensions.

Carefully browse through the list of installed plugins. If the list has the extension labeled with “Installed by enterprise policy” or “Installed by your administrator”, then complete the following tutorial: Remove Chrome extensions installed by enterprise policy otherwise, just go to the step below.

Open the Chrome main menu again, click to “Settings” option.

Get rid of Adware.BrowserSafer from Internet Explorer

By resetting IE browser you restore your web browser settings to its default state. This is first when troubleshooting problems that might have been caused by Adware.BrowserSafer which made to redirect your web-browser to various ad sites.

First, open the Internet Explorer. Next, click the button in the form of gear (Microsoft Internet Explorer tools menu icon). It will open the Tools drop-down menu, press the “Internet Options” as shown on the screen below.

Remove Adware.BrowserSafer adware from Firefox

Resetting your FF is basic troubleshooting step for any issues with your web-browser program, including the redirect to unwanted web pages.

First, run the FF and click Mozilla Firefox menu button button. It will open the drop-down menu on the right-part of the internet browser. Further, click the Help button (FF help button) as on the image below

In the Help menu, select the “Troubleshooting Information” option. Another way to open the “Troubleshooting Information” screen – type “about:support” in the web-browser adress bar and press Enter. It will display the “Troubleshooting Information” page like below. In the upper-right corner of this screen, click the “Refresh Firefox” button.

It will display the confirmation dialog box. Further, press the “Refresh Firefox” button. The Firefox will start a procedure to fix your problems that caused by the Adware.BrowserSafer. When, it is finished, press the “Finish” button.

Remove unwanted Scheduled Tasks

If an annoying web-page opens automatically on Windows startup or at equal time intervals, then you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and remove all the tasks which have been created by the Adware.BrowserSafer.

Press Windows and R keys on your keyboard simultaneously. It will display a dialog box which titled with Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and click OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, click “Task Scheduler Library”, like below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Select the first task, its properties will be display just below automatically. Next, click the Actions tab. Necessary to look at the text which is written under Details. If you are not sure that executes the task, then google it. If it is a component of the malicious program, then this task also should be removed.
