Get rid of go2vulcan.com advertisements from Firefox

First, launch the Mozilla Firefox. Next, press the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (Firefox menu button). It will open the drop-down menu. Next, click the “Help” button (FF help button).

In the Help menu, click the “Troubleshooting Information”. In the upper-right corner of the “Troubleshooting Information” page, click “Refresh Firefox” button.

Remove go2vulcan.com redirect from Google Chrome

Like other modern browsers, the Chrome has the ability to reset the settings to their default values and thereby remove the redirect to go2vulcan.com annoying ads which is caused by the adware.

At first, start the Chrome. Next, click the button in the form of three horizontal stripes (google chrome menu button). It will appear the main menu. Click on the option named “Settings”. Another way to display the Chrome’s settings – type chrome://settings in the browser adress bar and press Enter.

The web browser will display the settings screen. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Show advanced settings” link. Now scroll down until the “Reset settings” section is visible, as shown on the image below and press the “Reset settings” button.

The Chrome will display the confirmation dialog box. You need to confirm your action, click the “Reset” button. The program will start the process of cleaning. Once it is done, the browser settings including the ‘block pop-ups’ option back to the values that have been when the Chrome was first installed on your personal computer.

Delete go2vulcan.com pop-up ads from IE

To remove the go2vulcan.com redirect you need to reset the IE to the state, which was when the Windows was installed on your computer.

First, launch the IE, then click ‘gear’ icon IE tools menu icon. It will show the drop-down menu on the right part of the browser, then click the “Internet Options” as shown in the figure below.

In the “Internet Options” screen, you need to select the “Advanced” tab and click the “Reset” button. The Internet Explorer will show the “Reset Internet Explorer settings” prompt as shown on the screen below. Next, click the “Delete personal settings” check box to select it. After that, press the “Reset” button.

When the task is finished, click “Close” button. Close the IE and restart your system for the changes to take effect. This step will help you to restore your internet browser’s settings to default state and disable ‘ad-supported’ extensions.

Disinfect the browser’s shortcuts to remove go2vulcan.com redirect

When the ad supported software is started, it can also modify the internet browser’s shortcuts, adding an argument similar “http://site.address” into the Target field. Due to this, every time you open the web browser, it will be rerouted to an annoying advertisements.

To clear the browser shortcut, right-click to it and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab, locate the Target field. Click inside, you will see a vertical line – arrow pointer, move it (using -> arrow key on your keyboard) to the right as possible. You will see a text which starts with “http://” which has been added here. You need to remove it.

When the argument is removed, press the OK button. You need to clean all shortcuts of all your internet browsers, as they may be infected too.

Delete unwanted Scheduled Tasks

If the annoying go2vulcan.com page opens automatically on Windows startup or at equal time intervals, then you need to check the Task Scheduler Library and remove all the tasks that have been created by adware.

Press Windows and R keys on the keyboard simultaneously. This shows a prompt that titled with Run. In the text field, type “taskschd.msc” (without the quotes) and click OK. Task Scheduler window opens. In the left-hand side, click “Task Scheduler Library”, as shown on the image below.

In the middle part you will see a list of installed tasks. Select the first task, its properties will be display just below automatically. Next, press the Actions tab. Pay attention to that it launches on your system. Found something like “explorer.exe http://site.address” or “chrome.exe http://site.address”, then you need delete it. If you are not sure that executes the task, check it through a search engine. If it is a component of the malicious software, then this task also should be removed.

Having defined the task that you want to remove, then click on it with the right mouse button and select Delete as shown in the figure below.

  3. Once the download process is finished, please close all applications and open windows on your system. Double-click on the icon that’s named mb3-setup.
  4. This will open the Setup wizard of Malwarebytes onto your personal computer. Follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
  5. Once the Setup wizard has complete installing, the malware remover will start and display the main window.
  6. Further, press the “Scan Now” button to perform a system scan for the adware which redirects your internet browser to the go2vulcan.com annoying web-page. This procedure can take quite a while, so please be patient.

  8. When you are ready, click on “Quarantine Selected” button to begin cleaning your PC. Once the task is done, you may be prompted to reboot your machine.
  9. Close the Anti-Malware and continue with the next step.
