This is just a vague try to get reply from here.. I installed malware byte software.. including its browser guard.. A few days after I had to uninstall it which I did correctly.. Now after a few days whenever i create a new profile in chrome it says Error, when I click on error it says malware byte extension of browser guard wants to add in chrome. Obviously I remove it and it doesnt return on that profile. But wheneve I make a new profile on google chrome, it appears there.. I tried other browsers like firefox etc and it comes there too to add extension. This is so much annoying. Can you help? I dont want to re-install windows 10.. Theres no suspicious software in control panel programs too.

It sounds like you’re encountering a persistent issue where the Malwarebytes Browser Guard extension is attempting to install itself on new profiles in various browsers, despite having uninstalled Malwarebytes. This can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to resolve the issue without reinstalling Windows 10.

  1. Remove Browser Extensions:

    • Open each of your browsers (Chrome, Firefox, etc.).
    • Go to the extensions or add-ons section in the browser settings.
    • Look for Malwarebytes Browser Guard or any related extension.
    • Remove or disable it if you find it.
  2. Clear Browser Data:

    • In each browser, clear your browsing data. This often includes history, cookies, and cached files.
    • This step helps in removing any residual settings that might be causing the issue.
  3. Check for Hidden Malwarebytes Components:

    • Go to the Control Panel, and under “Programs and Features”, check again for any Malwarebytes related software and uninstall if found.
  4. Reset Browsers to Default (if steps 1-3 don’t work):

    • As a last resort, you can reset your browsers to their original settings. This will remove all extensions and should stop the Malwarebytes extension from reappearing.
    • Note: Resetting your browser will remove your customized settings and extensions.
  5. Restart Your Computer:

    • After completing these steps, restart your computer. This can often resolve lingering issues by refreshing the system state.
